John Tucker

John Tucker is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Global Equity Beta Solutions at State Street Global Advisors. He is responsible for a team of approximately 80 portfolio managers and analysts worldwide and over 1,400 portfolios with approximately $2 trillion in assets across all equity index and smart beta strategies. John also oversees State Street Global Advisors’ equity trading team, which trades nearly $3 trillion annually, and the Corporate Equity Group, which manages trust trading and corporate equity investments. Additionally, John is a director of State Street Global Advisors’ Trust Company, a member of State Street Global Advisors’ Investment Committee, and a member of State Street Global Advisors’ Executive Management Group. Prior to this, John also served as GA’s Chief Investment Operating Officer and was deeply involved in many of the firm’s IT transformation efforts. In this role, John promoted operational efficiencies and worked to implement new technologies for certain trading processes while streamlining the overall number of systems within our global platform. John’s team was also responsible for global portfolio oversight, model validation, and transaction cost analysis functions. Prior to this, John served as Co-Head of North American Index Equity Strategies, overseeing the management of all equity index strategies and exchange-traded funds managed in North America, and was Head of the Equity Index Group in SSGA's London office. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College and a Master of Finance degree from Boston College. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston CFA Society and the CFA Institute. He joined State Street Bank in 1988. Outside of work, John serves on the Board of Directors of Shore Country Day School in Beverly, Massachusetts.
